Dog Pile

My long over due assignment for #The-Artkin’s first topic, Balance. To make the image ‘balance’ the poses of the adults were supposed to be almost symmetrical, while the colour of the coats alternate (meaning dark adult and light pup one side and light adult and dark pup the other, with Bane at the back since his coat is almost the same colour as his mum’s). It would have probably worked better if I had used a digital media since then the colours would have had more contrast, but I found an old watercolour sketchbook and decided to use that instead. I also then made the immediate mistake of trying to use them like my acrylics (Ie, thinking I could use my lighter colours to cover up darker ones if I wanted) and ended up with the entire thing almost being the same colour. Most of the time after that was spent trying to fix it. The colours are still too similar for my liking, but oh well… I don’t think there’s much I can do about that.


As always, the scan never looks quite as good as the original, and the paper texture is showing far too much... ><
